Tomorrow It All Begins

2018 started out a bit rough. We drove home from vacation with family over New Year's Eve and arrived home early morning on the first to a house full of frozen pipes. Like the entire house! Even the water in the toilet was frozen!

So starting out the New Year ready to crush some goals and make some changes didn't go as planned.

In the past this would have taken over my entire year. I would have lost my momentum and kept going with the bad habits I want to break.

But not this year!

This times I'm going to pick up where I am and keep going. Last week was just a week that didn't go as planned. We had to wait for the water to unfreeze. I had to unpack and get the house in order from all the stuff brought back from Christmas. So it was a week of preparing for this week.

This week I'm prepared to get started. This week I'm ready to make the changes I need to so we can have the life we want to live!

Did you already lose the momentum of the New Year? Its not to late to still choose to make changes. Pick yourself up and get started! You won't regret it if you start a week later than planned but you will regret it if you never start!

Thank A Farmer

Do you ever stay at home and avoid going out on cold days? I still do this but I was much more successful at it before we moved to our farm. Currently our farm isn't much. We have about 30 chickens and 2 pigs and 3 dogs. But every morning and evening I have to go out no matter the weather and feed and check on our animals. If you have paid attention to the weather here in the south we are getting some nasty cold weather. Here in Oklahoma we have avoided that ice that Texas is getting but it's still been close to zero degrees when I've had to be outside.  For my farm it only takes me about 10 minutes to quickly feed and water the animals as long as they don't need any special attention. But this week we happen to be 'farm sitting'. So after I take care of our animals I have to drive to our friends farm and take care of their livestock. They have many more animals and many more chores.  Yesterday I dressed warm even though it was below zero when you...

Structure Of Any Kind Is My Nemesis! But I Try!

I've always struggled with keeping up with any type of routine or schedule. Some schedules like when I was in school or when I was working outside the home were a forced schedule and I didn't have a choice but to follow it. But now I'm a wife and mom and homesteader. I make my own schedule. I don't have anyone telling me when to do what needs to be done. I have responsibilities. I have a husband that requires attention, children that need to be fed and taught, and farm animals that need cared for. But for the most part I can make my own schedule and adjust our schedule to fit whatever my needs are.  This has not served me well. I struggle to keep the house picked up and cleaned. I struggle to keep the kids on a school schedule. I struggle to keep my family on any type of a routine. I struggle to meal plan, prep or grocery shop if I'm honest. I struggle with keeping myself healthy and getting regular exercise. But I'm try...
