Why does this always happen?

Last week Briana with Bikini Body Mommy was hosting her last surge before Christmas and I was excited and fully on board to bust my butt and lose a few pounds before the holidays.

I started the workout ready to have a great week. Then BAM...finishing up and my shoulder decided I pushed myself to far and I was done for at least a week.

I wasn't sure how long it would take to feel better I just knew I needed to not push it further because 7.0 starts in a few weeks and I need to be 100% ready.

I have a 50 pound loss that I want to achieve this year. It's actually a realistic goal and it feels like that I could actually achieve it this year but it seems every time I want to take a step forward towards making this goal a reality something like this happens.

Back in September when I had successfully completed 2 surges and dropped a pant size I was motivated...then I had a vacation that helped me go back to old habits and all the progress and motivation has contiuned to go out the window.

Why does this happen?

I wish I had an answer. I really do because then I'd know how to avoid it from happening during Bikini Body Mommy's 7.0 challenge coming up.

My plan to keep me from having life mess me up is to let my shoulder rest until 7.0. It's about 2 weeks away and Christmas week is next week so I'm just going to relax and enjoy the holiday. Then after all the celebrating and family time I'm going to jump in feet first to a new way of life for 2018!

I'm going to learn how to batch cook to make meals easier! I'm going to schedule me time with exercising every day because I need it! I'm going to enjoy reading books more than watching tv! I'm going to make sure my kids have a successful school year!

But I'm not going to do this as a New Year's resolution. Because that's setting myself up to fail.

I'm going to do this because it will make the life of my family and myself better! I'm going to put in the hard work for the life I want! We've already done so much towards this but now it's time to step up again and make some BIG changes!

Who's with me? Who wants to change their life they are living now into the life they dream about?

By the way...Bikini Body Mommy's 7.0 Challenge is FREE! So if you're interested go join and help me stay accountable!

2018 is coming!

2018 is less than 24 hours away as I write this. Everyone is posting about New Year's Resolutions they are making and how 2018 is going to be different. Me...I don't make New Year's Resolutions. I never really have. Mostly because I've seen so many people make them with great intentions and then fail miserably. Almost 4 years ago we made big life changes. We decided within a few weeks to pack up our family and move from Colorado to Oklahoma. Since then life has been increasingly different. We live in the city...now we live on 10 acres. I was terrified of chickens...now we have at least 30 chickens at all time. In a few weeks we will be ordering more. We also have a duck, guinea, and 2 pigs! We had two wonderful boys...now we added a daughter and plan for one more sometime in the future. So life was normal. We were living the same way I grew up and we were happy until we realized we really weren't. Now we are! We have learned how important it is

Tomorrow It All Begins

2018 started out a bit rough. We drove home from vacation with family over New Year's Eve and arrived home early morning on the first to a house full of frozen pipes. Like the entire house! Even the water in the toilet was frozen! So starting out the New Year ready to crush some goals and make some changes didn't go as planned. In the past this would have taken over my entire year. I would have lost my momentum and kept going with the bad habits I want to break. But not this year! This times I'm going to pick up where I am and keep going. Last week was just a week that didn't go as planned. We had to wait for the water to unfreeze. I had to unpack and get the house in order from all the stuff brought back from Christmas. So it was a week of preparing for this week. This week I'm prepared to get started. This week I'm ready to make the changes I need to so we can have the life we want to live! Did you already lose the momentum of the New Year? Its not to la

Thank A Farmer

Do you ever stay at home and avoid going out on cold days? I still do this but I was much more successful at it before we moved to our farm. Currently our farm isn't much. We have about 30 chickens and 2 pigs and 3 dogs. But every morning and evening I have to go out no matter the weather and feed and check on our animals. If you have paid attention to the weather here in the south we are getting some nasty cold weather. Here in Oklahoma we have avoided that ice that Texas is getting but it's still been close to zero degrees when I've had to be outside.  For my farm it only takes me about 10 minutes to quickly feed and water the animals as long as they don't need any special attention. But this week we happen to be 'farm sitting'. So after I take care of our animals I have to drive to our friends farm and take care of their livestock. They have many more animals and many more chores.  Yesterday I dressed warm even though it was below zero when you
